The Renaissance comes to Furnace Town!

The 2nd Annual Renaissance Faire at Furnace Town will be held on September 24th and 25th The event will celebrate the spirit of the Renaissance period, 14th, 15th, and 16th centuries in Europe, when individuals embraced the awakening of new thinking and new ideas. It was a time of kings and queens and highly respected knights in shining armor.

 

The Shire of Spiaggia Levantina, a small local group that is part of the worldwide non-profit educational organization called the Society for Creative Anachronism, will also be dressed in period costumes and participating in many of the faire's events and featured displays.

Live music, crafts and games for the kids and adults, hair braiding, face painting, henna, local artisans, food, drink, and live demonstrations of the ancient arts, including blacksmithing, broom making, spinners, and woodworking will be on hand. Additionally, the Ocean City Pipe and Drum, a local volunteer marching band dressed in plaid kilts, will add to the excitement with music.

Volunteer at the Faire!

At Furnace Town, we often say that our volunteers are the heart of the furnace, and we mean it! Volunteers make this place run every day, and we're hoping that you can help make the Furnace Town Renaissance Faire the hottest event of the season!

To sign up to be a volunteer for the Renaissance Faire, follow the link below and fill out the form. There are many different areas of the event we need volunteers for, and we have broken them into sections so you can easily pick where you want to volunteer and what time you want to volunteer. All volunteers receive free admission into the event for the weekend, along with a couple other perks.

Bluegrass Beer & BBQ

Join us on Saturday, July 9th for BLUEGRASS, BREW, AND BBQ! We have a great lineup to give you some good bluegrass music. Our entertainment features Sean Loomis and Darren Engh of The Stringbuzzards and an opening set by Ol' 53.

For those who are hungry, we'll be selling BBQ plates for $15. We are roasting a pig on-site, or if you prefer BBQ chicken, and sides from Pit N Pub.

We’ll have plenty of beer, wine, soda, and water for sale and each ticket includes a coupon for a free drink!

 

Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.

Come one, Come all to a day full of festivities celebrating the wee-folk of the Furnace! 

Fairies and Gnomes are welcome to come to play games and make crafts! Human children are invited to pass through our Transformation Station, for the low low price of 4 magic tickets, to become a fairy or a gnome and join in the fun!

 

Need a new wand? Perhaps a bird feeder? A new fairy garden? Magic Seed Balls? Perhaps you just want to dance? We’ve got you covered! 

There will be refreshments, a scavenger hunt, a raffle for a basket of fun fairy goodies, and free coloring pages.

 

Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for children 4-14. Kids under 4 are always free! 

Craft and Carnival Game tickets are 2/$1 or 25/$10

 

Come dressed for the weather - in the event of rain crafts will be moved inside and games under cover.
